The cold darkness was enough to kill a normal person at this hour. I roamed the shadows, moving at a nice calm pace. My target was running from me in such a frenzied manor, I couldn't help but let my lips twist into a smirk.
/Run run, my little friend.../ I thought.
Such sloppiness as the figure stumbled and tripped away. I let the evil laughter escape my throat as my target tripped and fell into an alleyway, the alleyway I wanted it to run to.
Funny what panic and fear can do to someone, I have just spent 3 minutes chasing this victim down, and in its frenzy exhausted itself after just 3 blocks. How pathetic.
They just lay there blinking as I step up.
"You went nowhere rather quickly didn't you?"
No answer, just trembling.
"Aw, c'mon! It's just me! I won't hurt you."
"N-n-no! Y-you're lying," shook the voice.
I couldn't help but chuckle.
"Such theatrics! It's not like you at all! After all these years I didn't think you to be a coward after all you've done. Tell me. Do you know why I'm here?"
It nodded.
"Any last words before I get rid of you?"
It shook its head no.
"Good man. Now hold still, Este wants it to be quick and clean. Oh don't look at me like that! It hurts really," my voice drips in sarcasm, "Crawford really...did you even think for a moment that I was on your side this whole time? Look at you, since the 'accident' you've been so weak. Your gift stripped and strength diminished. Not so High and Mighty now, are we?"
"Shut your bloody trap and just kill me already!"
I laughed even more.
"Brad really! Is that anyway to treat an old friend," I shot back.
"SCHULDIG!"
"Oh so now he remembers my name, how convenient. Now you can tell the demons in Hell who sent you there," I stepped closer, letting the darkness wash over me. It felt good.
/You...you bast-/ I heard his thought scream as I knelt and snatched him by his ebony turned silver locks.
/-oh my oh my! Such language!/ I spoke to him mentally, adding a soft laughter; watching him turn rigid.
"Schuldig, Schuldig...why? You were with me the whole time, behind me like you promised! Why...why are you still by Este's side? You lamented so much with me!"
I draw my firearm from behind my back, the holster making soft noise when the nickel plate leaves it.
"That was before the tower now wasn't it? Now that only an eighth of Este is left, I rank higher now. I'm not Schwarz anymore, I'm a member of Sieben now. Oh wow, I haven't seen your eyes get that big in a long time Brad!"
"The Elite...I should have known your lust for power was still there," he gritted through his teeth.
"Ja and it's more fun than that of the lower grunt working let me tell you," I joked while steadying my weapon at my former colleagues chest.
"Why aren't you just getting on with it?"
"Because Brad, your mind is ablaze with fear and anger with a hint of remorse. A lovely flavor I wish to savor. But if that's your wish..."
I cocked my faithful gun.
"I'll send you to straight back to the pit from whence you came..." I didn't continue, I've had my fun, but I had other things I could be doing.
"Schuldig..."
BANG!
He woke up with a start on the sofa. His ebony locks shook loose as he looked at the surroundings to our livingroom. When he realized where he was he sighed and put his book down on the small intable and took his glasses off. He pinched the bridge of his nose, squinting his eyes shut.
The giggle I was holding back finally escaped. I lost it and laughed.
"Wow! Nice dream Brad! Creepy, ja? Though I gotta say, I never thought you had anything like dreams at all! Especially ones I can see!!"
"Schuldig," his voice was gruff, "Shut up. Just shut your mouth for at least 10 seconds."
After a while I stopped polishing my gun and set it aside. Quite a nightmare that shook Brad to the core. He panted and gasped until his breathing returned to normal.
"Schuldig...don't betray me. I'm warning you for the last time, do NOT betray me. Or I will kill you before you do."
I smirk.
"Brad that was a dream, you know I wouldn't. If I even THOUGHT about going to Este with our plan, I'd still be punished for 'Betrayal by Thought' and we all know what the punishment for betrayal is in Este..."
His honey brown eyes bore holes into mine.
"...besides you know I desire freedom. Even if I became an Elder there's no way in Hell I'd do it. You know that. You know everything," I reassured.
After a LONG and awkward silence I looked to him and spoke softly,
"Brad it's so late and we have to be in the tower at noon. We better sleep."
Somewhat satisfied he returned his glasses, the low lamplight gleaming off of the lenses.
"Schuldig, my apologies. I can't take any chances on whether that was a vision or not."
I blinked.
"Was*!"
My firearm was in his hand! He was standing pointing it down upon me.
"BRAD!"
BANG!
-And then I bolted upright.
/HUH?/
I looked around the room. Where was I? White walls, small bed, soft blankets. Ohh god. I'm in my dormroom. I'm 'me' again. Thank GOD.
What a crazy dream! I yawned and checked my iPod for the time. Oh dear. Its late. I better really get some GOOD rest this time.
I laid down and rolled over but couldn't sleep. In the middle of shifting positions I felt a lump under my pillow. I reached under to feel and pulled out a shining silver gun.
"W-was ist das!**"

The End. And if you haven't noticed this IS a dream I did have. Try waking up to it. Haha I betcha won' t see this on Dr. Phil.
